Alvin Levi is the President of Howard Street Jewelers, Baltimore, Maryland, a sixty three year family business, founded by his parents.

Alvin has served the business community in various positions.

He is a past Chairman of the Board of both the Maryland Retailers Association, and the Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland.
Alvin has also served as President of the Downtown Merchants Association of Baltimore, the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Jewelers Association, and the Market Center Merchants Association. He also served as Vice President of the Affiliated Merchants Association of Baltimore.

He was a recipient of the Maryland Retailers Association’s highest honor, The Louis Goldstein Award. He was awarded the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Jewelers Association’s highest honor, The Mel Foer Award. He was also awarded by the Market Center Merchants Association’s highest honor, the Harry Glazer Award.

Alvin's community service has includes membership in the Rotary Club of Baltimore. In May 2006, he was honored with a Paul Harris Fellowship from Rotary.

Alvin has served as Big Brother for the Jewish Big Brothers Program, and as a Board of Director of the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, and was both a founder as well as Secretary of its Reform Jewish Day School.

Alvin is a graduate of The Gilman School in Baltimore, and Union College in Schenectady, New York. He has been married for thirty-five years to the former Ellen Himelfarb. They are the proud parents of two daughters.
